Prerequisites: Biology and Chemistry Course Description: Students study the structure and function of the human body and the interaction of body systems for maintaining homeostasis. Students conduct laboratory and field investigations, use scientific methods during investigations, and make informed decisions using critical thinking and scientific problem solving. Topics Covered: "Medical Terminology (directional terms)Tissues Integumentary (skin) System Muscular System Skeletal System Nervous System Endocrine System Cardiovascular/Respiratory System Digestive System Urinary System End of the year major mammalian dissection" Major Assignments: Rat dissection, systems dissections, Fetal pig dissection, project in Fall and Spring semester Prerequisites: Biology and may be enrolled concurrently in Chemistry. |
