Practicum of Commercial Photography
Recommended Grade Level: Grade 12
In this third-level commercial photography course, students will take their skills and knowledge to the next level by applying them in real-world settings. Building upon the skills learned in the previous two levels, students will focus on advanced techniques and concepts in commercial photography such as photojournalism, architectural, and product photography. They will also continue to learn the use of professional photography equipment and studio lighting. The course will have a strong focus on work-based learning, as students will have the opportunity to complete a practicum or internship with a professional photographer or photography studio. This will allow them to gain hands-on experience and develop a professional portfolio. Additionally, students will learn about the business aspects of commercial photography such as marketing, pricing, and client management. Throughout the course, students will work on a final project, creating a professional portfolio that showcases their skills and knowledge. Upon completion of the course, students will be well-prepared to pursue a career in commercial photography or related fields, with a strong portfolio and real-world experience to support their job search. This course is designed for students who have completed the first two levels of commercial photography and are looking to specialize in a specific field or pursue a career in the industry. |
