Art 3
Course Description: Students will experiment with a variety of media in personal artworks. Quality artworks created at Art III may be used to build the comprehensive portfolio in higher level art courses Topics Covered: Media and Techniques: • Drawing • Painting • Sculpture/Ceramics • Printmaking • Electronic Media Academics: • Elements & Principles of Design • Vocabulary & Concepts • Art Theory & Criticism • Artists and Art History Major Assignments: Art III focuses on composition and originality. Assignments include self-portraits, still life drawings, paintings, printmaking and ceramic and mixed media sculpture Monetary Requirements: Students will need to spend some time working on projects outside of the studio classroom. Students are encouraged to purchase their own supplies. |
