Course Description: This course serves as an in-depth look at the nature of the Texas environment and management and conservation of our resources. A main focus is presented on the management of common hunted species and their habitats. Issues in conservation and ethics are discussed. Both Hunter Education and Boater Education certifications are offered.
Topics Covered: Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Hunter’s Education Certification, Boater’s Education Certification, native plants, habitats, soil and water evaluation and conservation, processing game, various hunting methods and techniques, topics in ethics.
Major Assignments: Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Hunter’s Education Certification, Boater’s Education Certification, native plant collection, scoring and aging deer, hunting methods.
