Recommended Grade Level: 11-12
Prerequisites: Medical Terminology and Principles of Health Science Course Description: Health Science Theory (1 credit course): This course is designed to provide for the development of advanced knowledge and skills related to a wide variety of health careers. Students will employ hands-on experiences for continued knowledge and skill development. Units include vital signs, infection control, ethical & legal issues, communication, public health, mental health, and many more. Health Science Theory/Clinical (2 credit course): Course covers the same materials as Theory, but also includes the opportunity to go on clinical site rotations to a nursing home, hospital, dental clinic, and other sites. Basic Life Support Certification can be earned in both courses. |
