AP Calculus BC
Recommended Grade Level: 11-12
Course Description: This course is designed to prepare the student interested in a degree plan in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. A student successfully completing the AP Calculus BC exam may get credit for up to eight semester hours of Calculus while still in high school. The course covers the study of change and rates through the tools of differential and integral calculus. Students will experience multiple real-world scenarios from all aspects of science and engineering.
Skills for Success:
*Strong background in Algebra, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus
*Willingness to work both individually and in small groups
*Time management skills for assignments and assessments
Out of Class Commitments:
*Approximately 3 hours per week outside of class reading text and working exercise sets
*2 to 4 hours per week studying for chapter exams
Prerequisite: Pre-Calculus
